Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

Most surgical procedures can be done by Dr Hughes within our own office.  Procedures such as simple and surgical extractions, implant placement, sinus augmentation, ridge augmentation or modification can all be performed competently by a general dentist.  Some cases may require the expertise of an oral surgeon.  Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons are specialists with advanced training and expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of various head and neck conditions and injuries. After four years of dental school, an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon completes four to six years of additional formal training in treating the craniomaxillofacial complex.
